Therapy & Evaluations

Working to reach your full potential

Our highly skilled team of therapists provides speech therapy focused on improving communication skills, autonomy, and quality of life. We use evidence-based interventions in person and over teletherapy. The well being of clients and families are our number one priority.

Evaluations

At GTC we offer comprehensive, person centered evaluations that focus on your areas of concern.  We rely heavily on parent and caregiver input to make sure your values and perspectives are a central focus of our assessment.  We offer evaluations for:

  • Receptive and expressive language skills

  • Speech, articulation, and phonological skills

  • Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC)

After the evaluation we will share our report with you and work with you to determine your best next steps.  If therapy is recommended we will work closely with you to move from our evaluation to a treatment plan that works for you and your family.

School & Dayhab Contracts

We offer school contracts to public schools, private schools, and dayhabs.  We cover short term and long term contracts. Our therapists are highly familiar with the infrastructure and requirements of both schools and dayhabs.  When we join your team we arrive familiar with:

  • Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

  • Individualized Education Plans (IEP)

  • Dayhab Service Plans (DHSP) & Individualized Service Plans (ISP)

School and dayhab contracts are flexible and work with your institutional needs. To get started email our main office at info@grandboistherapy.com

Here are some of the areas we work on with our clients:

Speech

Speech refers to the sounds we make with our mouths to communicate. When we work with clients who have challenges with speech production we focus on meeting the client where they are, creating fun and engaging activities that address the unique needs of the client. Our clinicians are well equipped to address speech deficits related to:

  • Articulation disorders

  • Phonological disorders

  • Childhood apraxia of speech

  • Dysarthria

Language

Language refers to the symbols we use - words and their meaning (written, spoken, signed), grammar, sentence structure, and more. Language can be expressive (what we want to communicate) or receptive (what we understand). Our therapists specialize in supporting clients who have both receptive and expressive language challenges, including those associated with:

  • Language delay

  • Autism spectrum disorders

  • Down Syndrome

  • Narrative skills and language organization

  • Social pragmatic challenges

AAC

AAC stands for augmentative alternative communication.  AAC is a method of communicating without speech.  This might include communicating with an iPad, pictures, or a dedicated medically funded device.  Our therapists all specialize in AAC and can support clients and families with:

  • AAC evaluations

  • Device funding and programming

  • AAC intervention

  • Parent / caregiver coaching
